Agenda 111 won’t be finished on this watch, Akandoh says the math and the money just don’t add up.

Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister for Health, has said that the current government might not be able to finish all the hospitals under the Agenda 111 plan because of money and other issues. He said on the Citi Breakfast Show on April 22 that the government is dedicated to improving healthcare infrastructure, but the size of the program left over from former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s administration makes it impossible to finish it all in a short amount of time. He said that some projects are already well along, while others are still in the early stages and will need a lot of time and money. He stressed that it is not possible to finish all 111 hospitals in one or even four years. The previous government started the Agenda 111 program to fill in gaps in healthcare by building hospitals in underserved areas and districts. This would make it easier for people all over the country to get good care.
