Power crisis briefing: Jinapor to address Akosombo fire, grid collapse, and ECG shake-up today at 2pm

Today, Monday, April 27, at 2 p.m., Energy Minister John Jinapor will give the country an update on recent changes in Ghana’s electricity distribution sector. These changes have raised concerns about the stability and management of power. Recent events that have affected the national grid and caused power outages in several areas include a fire at the Akosombo Power Control Centre and changes in leadership at the Electricity Company of Ghana in the Ashanti Region. The Minister should also talk about his order for the CEO of Ghana Grid Company to step down so that investigations can take place. This decision was confirmed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu. He should also talk about what the government is doing to deal with the problems and make the energy sector better.
