One million coders, zero fees, Fred Yeboah says every Ghana Card holder is eligible, no degree required.
Fred Yeboah, Director of Research and Innovation at GI-KACE and a member of the implementation committee for the One Million Coders Programme has announced that all Ghanaians with a valid Ghana Card are eligible to register for the One Million Coders Programme by the government. He explained that the initiative is a free one and aims at providing inclusive digital skills training to people from diverse educational and professional backgrounds via online and face-to-face learning platforms. Mr Yeboah said while the programme is tailored for young people, every Ghanaian is eligible to apply, provided they possess a valid Ghana Card for verification and accountability. He also highlighted that some applicants have encountered difficulties with facial verification during the registration exercise. The challenges, he said, are mainly caused by poor lighting conditions at the time of verification.
