From Dumsor to Dominance!” — Jinapor Unveils Reforms Powering Ghana’s Energy Comeback
The government has implemented significant changes in order to stabilize Ghana’s energy sector, according to John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister of Energy and Green Transition. These reforms have the goal of guaranteeing energy security, economic stability, and sustained industrial development. During his speech at the Ninth Ghana Energy Awards in Accra, he pointed out that these steps have been successful in ending months of load shedding, which was brought on by a 700-megawatt shortage in December 2024, and that their purpose is to construct an energy system that is both robust and efficient. According to his statement, the purpose of the awards is to honor the dedication of those professionals and investors who are responsible for the development of the industry. In addition, the program encourages thought leadership, cooperation, and innovation across the whole energy value chain. The Energy Personality of the Year (Male) award was given to Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo of the Volta River Authority, while the Energy Personality of the Year (Female) award was given to Judith Adjobah Blay of Ghana Gas Limited during the ceremony.
