Gabby Otchere-Darko Praises Bawumia’s Character and Leadership
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised former Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a man of strong character who has never been involved in a scandal throughout their nearly two decades of association. In a birthday tribute marking Dr Bawumia’s 63rd birthday on Wednesday, October 7, Mr Otchere-Darko described him as loyal, patriotic and humble, with a strong belief in the potential of Ghanaians. “I have never seen you angry, heard you insult anyone or known you to be touched by scandal,” he wrote, recalling his first interactions with Dr Bawumia nearly 20 years ago.
Mr Otchere-Darko also praised Dr Bawumia’s judgement, temperament and leadership qualities, saying he has the ability to make difficult decisions and identify opportunities in challenging circumstances. He said Ghana would need leaders who understand the opportunities and challenges created by artificial intelligence and can help young people turn uncertainty into opportunity and prosperity. Mr Otchere-Darko ended his tribute by praying for Dr Bawumia’s health, strength and wisdom in the years ahead. Dr Bawumia served as Vice-President from 2017 to 2024 and is the NPP’s presidential candidate for the 2028 general election.
