Love Isn’t Just Sex: Pastor Explains How Small Gestures Keep Marriages Strong

Rev. Daniel Annan, the main pastor at the Universal Gospel Center, said on The Relationship Show on Joy Prime with host Asieduwaa Akumia that love in marriage is much more than just physical intimacy and should be shown through kindness, talking openly, and thoughtful actions, especially when addressing the situation of a woman who shared that she feels unnoticed in her marriage because, although her husband is supportive and caring, he doesn’t celebrate special days like her birthday with presents; he emphasised that love isn’t only about sex and that couples need to have mutual respect, shared understanding, and genuine care for one another, and that good communication helps partners learn each other’s thoughts and makes life together easier, and he also pointed out that showing affection — such as spending time together, gentle touch, sincere words of encouragement, and giving meaningful gifts — is very important, particularly for women, because these kinds of gestures help them feel valued, secure, and happy knowing their partner truly acknowledges them, even though affection may sometimes lead to physical closeness, it shouldn’t be taken as the only proof of love.
