NDC Accused of Sneaking LGBTQ Content into Schools (MP Demands Immediate Recall of Materials)

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the ranking member of Parliament’s Defense and Interior Committee, has accused the NDC government of secretly adding LGBTQ-related material to Ghana’s school curriculum. He said on social media on Tuesday, January 13, that the party has “mischievously and deliberately smuggled LGBTQ agenda into the curriculum,” even though it publicly opposes LGBTQ issues. The Assin South MP said that the printing and distribution of teacher manuals and other teaching and learning materials were meant to promote LGBTQ sexuality education in schools. He said, “The NDC has printed and distributed Teacher Manuals and other Teaching and Learning Materials to promote LGBTQ, contrary to their deceptive rhetoric of being the party which abhors LGBTQ.” He said, “We demand the immediate recall of all the Teacher Manuals and Textbooks propagating NDC’s LGBTQ agenda from schools,” and he also called for the parts of the curriculum that were affected to be reviewed and cleaned up. He warned the government not to use NaCCA and the Ministry of Education to push what he called “this vile and evil agenda.” Rev. Fordjour also connected the supposed actions to the fact that Parliament has not yet voted on the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill. He called the situation “diabolical and dangerous” and urged people to fight back, saying, “Let us rise up to resist the NDC LGBTQ agenda.”
