Bawumia Dominates NPP Flagbearer Race—Global InfoAnalytics Shows 73% Support Among Delegates!

In the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer race, a new poll from Global InfoAnalytics shows that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is clearly in the lead.

The report from Global InfoAnalytics, which has been keeping an eye on the NPP primaries for the past few months, says that Dr. Bawumia has the support of 73% of NPP delegates.

Kennedy Agyapong is in second place with 19%, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong is in last place with 5%.

Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum and Kwabena Agyei Agyapong got 2% and 1%, respectively.

The most recent Global InfoAnalytics report did not include categories for undecided or undisclosed voters, which made it easier to see what the NPP primaries were likely to look like.

Dr. Bawumia got 45% of the votes in the last report, while Kennedy Agyapong got 31%. This left a lot of votes still up for grabs because almost 20% of delegates didn’t say who they were voting for or were undecided.

But the most recent results show that Dr. Bawumia’s lead has grown a lot, while Kennedy Agyapong’s support has gone down.

The survey also found that 56% of all Ghanaians who are eligible to vote would rather Dr. Bawumia lead the NPP into the 2028 general elections than anyone else.

Kennedy Agyapong came in second with 28%, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong came in third with 6%. Kwabena Agyei Agyapong and Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum got 4% and 2%, respectively.

On January 31, the NPP will hold elections to choose its flagbearer for the 2028 general elections.
