Ato Forson Salutes Armed Forces (Vows Stronger Defence, Better Welfare for Troops!)

Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Finance Minister and Acting Minister for Defense, praised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for their dedication and strength. He said that their unwavering commitment has kept Ghana strong and united despite security problems at home and abroad. At the GAF’s end-of-year West African Social Activity (WASSA) at Burma Camp on Friday, January 23, he told officers, men, and the public that the government was committed to strengthening national defense through strategic policy direction, modernization, and operational readiness. Dr. Forson said that the Ministry of Defence will align defense priorities with new security threats while also strengthening the institution’s capacity. He also said that under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, the welfare of personnel is still a top priority. The government is working to improve housing, healthcare, training, career advancement, and overall working conditions to boost morale, professionalism, and operational effectiveness.
