AID IS OUT — INNOVATION IS IN! GHANA & UK FORGE FUTURE-PROOF DEAL.

The British High Commissioner to Ghana, Dr. Christian Rogg, has said that the United Kingdom and Ghana are in the process of establishing a new partnership for development. This partnership will go beyond the provision of assistance to include innovation, research, technology, and the exchange of best practices, while also bolstering collaboration in the areas of commerce, investment, and security. Dr. Rogg made it clear that security is a cornerstone of development and pointed out the significance of working together on the international stage through the Commonwealth, the United Nations, and financial institutions. His speech was delivered at the birthday celebration of King Charles III, which was held in Accra and attended by a number of dignitaries, including Prince Edward and John Agyekum Kufuor, who was the former president. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry in Ghana, pointed out that this collaboration aids in the promotion of sustainable development, peace, and economic stability. It also includes many activities, including information exchange, mutually advantageous programs, and investment. She emphasized government initiatives such as “Adwumawura,” which provides apprenticeship programs that equip young people with vocational skills, supports youth economic inclusion initiatives that promote small-scale farming, aquaculture, and livestock ventures to foster employment and self-reliance, and trains and mentors 10,000 young entrepreneurs.
