COKA Calls for Reconciliation to Unite NPP Ahead of 2028 Elections

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the party’s newly elected national executives to prioritise reconciliation with their opponents to strengthen unity ahead of the 2028 general elections. Speaking to the media after the party’s national delegates conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, he commended efforts to bring contestants together and urged the leadership to sustain the inclusive approach as it prepares for parliamentary primaries and the national campaign. The conference was held under the theme, “One Party, One Purpose: United for Victory.” Mr Appiah, popularly known as COKA, said a united executive and coordinated campaign would help the party present its alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Reflecting on the conference, Mr Appiah said delegates’ support for the party’s flag bearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, demonstrated a shared commitment across the party. He expressed confidence in Dr Bawumia’s prospects in the 2028 elections, describing the unity displayed by members as an encouraging sign for the party’s preparations. He also praised the conduct of the aspirants and delegates, saying their actions reflected an understanding of the need to work together despite internal competition. He urged the national executives to preserve that spirit of cooperation as the party moves towards its primaries and prepares for the next general election.
