We will not be silenced, Bawumia vows NPP will keep talking as arrests of party members spark intimidation claims.

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia says the party will not be intimidated by the recent arrests of some of its members and will continue to engage Ghanaians with its ideas and policies. Speaking at a meeting with student leaders at the University of Ghana on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, ahead of a three-day party boot camp, Dr. Bawumia said the NPP would respond through political engagement rather than fear. His comments follow concerns within the party over the arrests of Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, and Agona West NPP Organiser David Essendoh. “We will take the debate and idea to the country, and we will make our case. We are, however, saying that we will not be intimidated,” he stated.
