Doctor Dismisses Claims Breast Sucking Prevents Cancer

Dr Angela Kutin Mensah, a doctor at Chrispod Hospital, has dismissed claims that men sucking their partners’ breasts can prevent breast cancer, explaining that familiarity with a partner’s body may instead help identify abnormalities early. Speaking during a breast cancer awareness and screening campaign organised by the Adunyame Foundation and Hadassah Network Outreach, she said partners may notice unusual changes in breast size, shape or texture, as well as lumps and fluid discharge, during intimate moments. Such observations, she noted, could alert women to seek medical assessment before the condition progresses.

Dr Kutin Mensah stressed that any benefit comes from noticing possible warning signs, not from the act of breast sucking itself. “It’s not about the sucking that can help. What can rather help is that since your partner knows your body best, he can rather touch or feel around your breasts,” she explained. She urged couples to take unusual changes seriously and seek professional medical advice rather than rely on intimate activities as a means of preventing breast cancer.
