Petitions Orchestrated by the Executive!” — Ex-MP Adomako Kissi Accuses Presidency, Says EC & Special Prosecutor Removal Bids Are ‘Clockwork’ NDC Agenda. Gov’t Denies, Debate Heats Up!

Dr. Dickson Adomako Kissi, who formerly served as a member of parliament for the Anyaa Sowutuom district, has recently launched a harsh criticism of the Presidency. He has made the allegation that the Executive branch of the government was responsible for organizing a total of ten petitions that demanded the dismissal of the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng as well as the leadership of the Electoral Commission.
The petitions were allegedly a part of a longstanding goal that was being pursued by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), according to Dr. Adomako Kissi, who made the assertion on Tuesday, December 2, during an appearance on Channel One TV’s “Breakfast Daily.”He stated in a tone that was dripping with sarcasm, “I have to commend the NDC for fulfilling their promise; they are acting in precisely the way that they said they would when they arrive, which is to eliminate the EC.”He went a step farther by characterizing the petition process as “clockwork,” which suggests that it was both predictable and intentionally put into motion. Dr. Adomako Kissi made a direct criticism of Felix Kwakye Ofosu, who is the Minister responsible for Government Communications, accusing him of deceiving the public regarding the origins of the petitions. He said, “I have every right to tell Felix that he did well lying to Ghanaians that the Executive has nothing to do with the petition.”The official stance that the administration had taken was in stark contrast to the remarks that he made. Kwakye Ofosu has previously refuted numerous allegations that President John Mahama or the Presidency had either manipulated or impacted the petitions. He was of the opinion that the Executive was not the source of either the substance or the beginning of the petitions, and he argued that these claims were driven by political considerations. In the meanwhile, the Office of the President has verified that they have received ten petitions that are distinct from one another, each requesting the dismissal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, Chairperson of the Electoral Commission Jean Mensa, and her two deputies.
Officials are being accused of different sorts of misbehavior in petitions that were submitted by private persons. In particular, the Special Prosecutor is being accused of having abused their power as well as of being incompetent. All of the petitions have been sent to the Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, who is expected to evaluate if a prima facie case exists to warrant further proceedings.
