Dumelo: Gov’t to Build 250 Farm Service Centres (Mahama to Launch First in Afram Plains)

John Dumelo, the Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, has said that the government plans to build 250 Farm Service Centers across the country over the next four years. These centers will help farmers with important services and increase agricultural productivity. He told Joy News on March 9 that the program is part of a larger effort by the government to give farmers incentives and build infrastructure that will help them grow more and work more efficiently. He said that John Dramani Mahama is expected to break ground on the first set of centers in the Afram Plains in the next week or two. This will mark the start of the nationwide rollout, with about 11 to 12 centers set to begin construction this year. He said that the centers would give farmers access to mechanization, better seeds, fertilizers, technical help, and other services that would lower production costs and raise yields.
