“Struggling to Find Relevance!” — MP Slams Kissi Agyebeng’s Office as Ineffective

Isaac Boamah-Nyarko, the Member of Parliament for Effia, has demanded that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) be immediately reevaluated, claiming that the organization has not shown its worth since it was founded.
Speaking on Wednesday, November 19, on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily, the Effia MP expressed doubts about the efficacy of the OSP under Kissi Agyebeng, claiming that the organization has failed to pursue any significant cases that provide Ghanaians with real advantages. It is imperative that the Office of the Special Prosecutor undergo a thorough reexamination as soon as feasible. The OSP is having trouble staying relevant. It is just having trouble finding relevance. It has come to the realization that, throughout the years, it has failed to bring any pertinent matter to a successful conclusion that would benefit Ghana’s decent citizens. In the end, he has virtually nothing to show after coming up with ideas, creating headlines, holding press conferences, and charging people. The Special Prosecutor, according to Mr. Boamah-Nyarko, is a “Octopus” entity that takes on cases it believes are connected to corruption without delivering investigations that the public can completely comprehend or trust. He went on, “The Special Prosecutor has become an octopus that just struggles to find its feet wherever it gets issues that he thinks are corruptionrelated matters and conducts investigations, but nobody can understand the quality of the investigation he does.”As a component of Ghana’s strengthened anti-corruption system, the Office of the Special Prosecutor was created in 2018 with the responsibility of independently looking into and prosecuting cases involving corruption. Its goal was to eliminate political meddling in high-profile corruption cases. However, the OSP has been embroiled in a number of public scandals in recent years, including cases that were dropped due to procedural issues, difficulties managing evidence, and allegations of overreach.
