The Numbers Don’t Lie: Bawumia Solidifies Frontrunner Status for 2028 NPP Ticket!
A recent nationwide poll released on December 16, 2025 by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Ghana shows former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia far ahead in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries set for January 31, with about 69.7 % overall backing, especially strong among delegates where he scored 67.8 %, well above his closest rival, Kennedy Agyapong, at 21.3 %. The survey, which included responses from over 5,000 party delegates and more than 13,000 people from across the country, also found Dr. Bawumia leading among ordinary voters with 50.6 % support, confirming his solid position in most independent polls ahead of the primaries and making him the frontrunner to win the NPP’s nomination for the 2028 general election.
